Photography: smoke

Posted by Laura 25/10/2016 0 Comment(s) Photography,

Today I want to show you smoke photography. I learned this technique on a photography course at KyAMK. I didn't do a very good job at the course, and got stung by the photography bee big time. So now I've wanted to challenge myself into taking more pictures and this week I took some smoky photographs. After taking these photos I realized, how well last weeks double exposure would go with these pictures.

For this technique you'll need incense, a detachable flash for your camera, some black background(paper) and a DSRL-camera. Most of the magic I did was in Photoshop. I used the vibrance, color adjustment, clarity, contrast and obviously cropped like crazy. I also realized - too late - that my lense was all dirty after last weeks photography time in the blizzard.
