Here are a few of the things I've managed to sew for myself in the last year or four. I had a rough patch with sewing because I had a business that revolved around crafts. Now that I've put down the business I'm free to sew again, and I've been more creative in the last four weeks than in the whole last year - or so it feels. I know I did sew a lot of things in the year 2015, but since just a fraction of them was for myself or people around me, I have forgotten all about them.
Disclaimer: in all of these pictures I have make up and a black wig. This is not how I look on a regular basis (though I wish I did) because I'm too lazy :)
I'll start with the post picture: the cat girl shirt. It's a cropped shirt that reveals a lot and has a huge hood. It's made of this leopard print a bit furry fabric and glitter fabric. There's ribbing fabric under the bust and clips for closure. Also, I couldn't get the sleeves ends to look great and sewed a piece of lace to make it less apparent. The idea for this came from Project Runway, the episode where they had to make outfits for woman wrestlers :) I bought the fabrics when visitin Estonia.
I have always own atleast one school girl skirt. This one I made when the previous one's fabric started to look very sad. It really didn't hold up, I used to wear it everywhere!
More recently I've made a few leggings. They are a bit wide, and the first ones (ooh, I didn't take a picture of them!!) were even wider. I might need to draft a new pattern: I made it a bit wide to begin with, and I've been walking everywhere and going to the gym and swimming, so now I've prolly also lost some weight! Both of the leggings fabrics are from Eurokangas, the first ones are from their fabric bin.
And the last sewing project I'll show you is this awesome huge circle skirt I made! The fabric is from Wexler in Lahti (Finland). It's a 100% cotton with a beautiful pattern. I have a lot of other beautiful cotton fabrics from the same store, and I really need to start sewing! These pretty gothic skirts (and dresses) give me so much joy! :) The interesting thing about this skirt is that I used the ruffle foot on my Husqvarna Viking Platinum Plus to make the ruffles!
Here it ends. Thank you for coming by, I hope you liked this post! I have two posts almost ready: one about a hat I made and another one with things I've knitted! I decided to make this about sewed things.
