Grommet tool

Posted by Laura 25/09/2017 0 Comment(s) Sewing,

I bought a grommet machine! There's just this one problem....

I have been looking to get a grommet machine for myself for a few years now. I've had one on loan and therewill come a time when I need to return it. So I got really into buying one for myself. Unfortunately some places sell only to other businesses and one place only had the machine, not the bits that cut a hole in the fabric for the grommet to go through. And then there are a million places to buy online, in which it costs 100-400 euros to order from. Because I'm skittish and don't trust dealers I cannot meet in person, I wanted to buy locally. So I found this weird little place called Omakoru.net. A friend of mine had said that they ordered their grommet tool from Omakoru, and it came up on the Google search on the 2nd page. The tool was very inexpensive there, only about 60 euros including postage. So I gathered up enough courage to place an order. After I placed my order, the item was removed from the webstore, so I think they might only have one of them at any given time. This is why I've linked the website, and not the actual page where you'd find this tool.

I think I ordered this on a Friday and it came on Monday (I've been out of commision because of a cold, and the video is not my best work because of that!) so the service was incredibly fast! But there was one thing missing! I cannot make the holes with this thing :( I have emailed the company and they said they'll get back to me after they hear from the place where they buy the tools from. I might need to ask someone if they are able to make me the bits, if I cannot source them from Omakoru.... Or maybe I should just return the whole thing? I dunno.

Well, here's the machine:

I'll get back to you on this one! Thank you for stopping by, and don't forget to DIY! :)
